On Wednesday, the Democratic head of US House Committee requested a six-year internal revenue service for Donald Trump’s personal & business tax returns. This could set up a court battle with the White House.
The Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neel wrote a request to IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig. Notably, it has been viewed by the Democrats in the House of Representatives.
US Treasury and IRS officials haven’t commented on this issue yet.
The request letter is also demanding for the income tax returns of Trump connected eight entities. These eight entities are as follows:
- Donald J Trump Revocable Trust
- DJT Holdings LLC
- DJT Holdings Managing Member LLC
- DTTM Operations LLC
- DTTM Operations Managing Member Corp
- LFB Acquisition Member Corp
- LFB Acquisition LLC
- Trump National Golf Club
Whereas, Trump doesn’t want to provide his tax returns to Congress. Recalling the past, in 2016 elections also Trump refused to do so. Rettig wants the submission of returns by 10th April.
In 2017, Trump released a brief financial disclosure but kept his net worth, revenue sources and tax private.
Moreover, Ways and Means Committee Democrats, Dan Kildee said that the panel has the right to access Trump’s records.
He also said that this request has nothing to do with the investigation period of Trump’s collusion with Russia in 2016 US elections.
Dan Kildee said, “This has nothing to do with the Mueller report.”
Top Republican Kevin Brady said, “Obviously there are very serious other public interests that would be served by having access, but principally this is about the policy question.” Kevin is speaking in defence of US President Donald Trump.
Last submission date for all the income tax returns for six years of Trump and his eight entities is April 10. Let’s see if they do so or not.
