US President Donald Trump and China President Xi Jinping are in talks to end the age-old US China trade war. The trade war between these two countries was harming the global economy.
On Wednesday, the two nations went on their ninth round of trade talks in Oval office. The organised meeting tried to dissolve the US allegations on China. US said that Beijing is trying to challenge US technological dominance by using cyber theft along with predatory tactics.
Top Chinese negotiator, Vice Premier Liu He told Trump, “because of your direct involvement, we do have great progress.”
The countries haven’t made any agreement and summit yet. But Trump said, “If we have a deal, then we’ll have a summit.” He added, “It might take four weeks to put together a framework for the deal and two weeks more to get the details on paper.”
Additionally, Trump also said that he will also discuss the tariffs imposed by the US on China with Liu. He also appreciated a “beautiful letter” of Xi but hasn’t disclosed its content yet.
As reported by President Trump the deal will take four more weeks to go on papers.
US president Trump also suggested some nations such as the US, Russia and China to use their money for a better cause instead of producing weapons & nuclear power.
During the talks, Washington wants to change trade and economic policies. On the other hand, Beijing wants Trump to abolish expensive sanctions on Chinese goods.
US trade representative Robert Lighthizer said that there are still many major unresolved issues in the trade deal.
Noticeably, the US and China are in talks from last December to resolve their trade war.
Recalling the past, the two countries have already imposed a lot of tariffs on each other’s goods.
If this deal fails or the US China Trade war doesn’t end here, there will be so much at stake.
