On Friday, Unofficial results of Tuesday’s Provincial election were released. These results show the united conservative party with 63 seats and Alberta’s NDP with 24 seats. Elections Alberta has released unofficial results. These results are live but not final yet.
On Tuesday, most of Alberta’s 87 ridings were declared while some have remained too close to call.
During these advance polls, Alberta was the first province to use a “vote-anywhere” system. All the five days of elections people could vote from anywhere.
Breaking the record, about 700,000 advance ballots cast across the province. Notably, more than 223,000 were cast at a polling station, outside the voter’s riding.
Five ridings went undeclared till Friday afternoon. These five ridings are as follows-
Calgary-Currie
Calgary-Falconridge
Calgary-Varsity
Edmonton-South West
Edmonton-West Henday

Additionally, these results showed that UCP candidates have won seats in four out of five ridings.
As per the unofficial tally, NDP candidate Jonathon Carson won the seat in Edmonton-West Henday.
Elections Alberta said, “Unofficial voter turnout is 71.1 per cent, based on 1,880,508 votes cast and 2,643,453 registered electors.”
