David Sidoo, a Vancouver man and a former Canadian football player pleads not guilty to charges of bribing in US college admission scandal. He was accused of his alleged role of money laundering in college admissions scandal in the US.
His lawyer Richard Schoenfeld says the plea entered in writing after an indictment from the US. Massachusetts District Court accused him of transferring $100,000 from Canada account in California in Jan 2013.
The Court also alleged that the money was in the name of college prep company, The Key. The company will improve the SAT scores of Sidoo’s son by the cheating scheme. Eventually, it will lead to his son’s seat in reputed US college.

Also, an indictment alleged David Sidoo paid $200,000 to someone to take SAT test on behalf of his sons. Not just that, he also paid someone to fly to Vancouver.
Previously, 12 parents including actress Felicity Huffman and a coach plead guilty. However, well-known philanthropist David Sidoo and 19 other parents including actress Lori Loughlin plead not guilty and are facing money laundering charges.
After pleading guilty in March, David Sidoo was released by the federal court in Boston on a $1.5M secured bond. Nevertheless, his travel to Canada and the US was restricted.
