A democrat donor Ed Buck was arrested in 2019 for running a drug house apparently along with providing meth to a person and committing battery resulting in serious injuries. Buck is a longtime donor to Democrat officials, including House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), presidential candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, and Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.).
On 17th September 2019, 65-years old Buck was arrested from his apartment when a 3rd man was found overdosed with methamphetamine. On Tuesday, the federal grand jury returned the indictment with four additional charges for the crimes such as one count of distribution of drugs (methamphetamine), one count of misusing of his residential area as for the distribution of different kinds of drugs, two counts of enticing a man to travel for engaging in prostitution.
Buck allegedly solicited victims on social media platforms and utilized a recruiter to scout and proposition men as per se court filings. After the arrival of the men there, Buck or his people used to inject men with meth or some other drugs with or without their consent. There are allegations on Buck that he sometimes injected victims while they were unconscious.
Last year when Buck was first charged, Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey said, “I remain deeply concerned for the safety of people whose life circumstances may make them more vulnerable to criminal predators.”
One of Buck’s victim, Moore had written in his journal that Buck was “the one to thank” as he became a drug addict due to him only. Moore was found dead in July 2017.
In the year 2016 he wrote that “He gave me my first injection of crystal meth, it was very painful, but after all the troubles, I became addicted.”
Buck has to face life imprisonment without any parole. His trial is going to start on 19th January 2021. His lawyer hasn’t yet commented on this even after a request to do so.
After the first death in the year 2017, Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.) admitted that she received $250 from Buck but she also said that she didn’t know him.
In her words, she said, “What I am hearing and reading about his conduct with Gemmel is deeply disturbing. If there are other victims, they should come forward immediately. It is my hope that law enforcement is prepared to investigate and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. My thoughts are with the friends and family of Gemmel this evening.”
When the Dean was found dead in Buck’s apartment many officials distanced themselves from his as engagement with a criminal might affect their image. Additionally, some of the lawmakers that received funding from Buck also committed to donating it.
