This weekend, Vancouver is going to be a fun place. There is going to be two different functions on the city streets. On Saturday, you will experience an annual Vaisakhi parade. On Sunday, there will be the country’s largest annual 10Km road race. For more information on Vancouver Vaisakhi Parade & road race just read on ahead.
Vancouver Vaisakhi Parade:
Vaisakhi parade will take place in Khalsa Deewan Society at 800 Ross Street from 11 AM to 5 PM.
The parade will go from Ross Street to south SE Marine and then go west on Main Street, north to 49th avenue and then south to Fraser Street. Hence it will end back at Ross Street.
Many roads will remain closed due to this Vaisakhi Parade from 11 AM to 5 PM. All the road closures from 11 am to 5 pm are as follow:
- Westbound S.E. Marine Drive from Ross to Main Streets.
- Main Street from Marine Drive to 49th Avenue
- 49th Avenue from Main to Fraser Street.
- Fraser Street from 49th to 57th Avenue.
- East 57th Avenue from Fraser to Ross Streets.
- Ross Street from E 57th to S.E. Marine Drive.
Not just that, the parade is going to affect many other routes such as 3, 8, 49 and 100.

Surrey Vaisakhi:
Next Week, Surrey is also going to host Vaisakhi parade along with Vaisakhi function.
On 20th April, Surrey Vaisakhi Parade will start from Gurudwara Sahib Dashmesh Darbar temple at 12885 85 Avenue at 9:30 AM. The parade will wrap at the same place at around 4 PM.
10km Road Race:
Coming back to Vancouver weekend plans as we mentioned there will be the largest annual 10Km road race.
On Sunday, more than 40,000 people will take part in the 10km race or some other courses offered by the organizers. This 10km road race will start at 9 AM on Georgia Street in Burrard St.
Runners will start from Georgia Street West and will continue the race into Stanley Park, along with English Bay, then across Burrard Street Bridge, around Granville Island, then into False Creek also. Before coming back to the BC place runners will also run in the back over Campi Street Bridge.
Notably, road closures will also take place in during this race on Sunday. The road closure will begin in Downtown Vancouver at 5 AM for Vancouver Sun Run. However, at some place beginning and ending time may vary.
