Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson asked PM Justin Trudeau and Premier Doug Ford to investigate Ottawa floods. He is looking forward to both federal and provincial government for Ottawa flood investigation.
On Wednesday, Watson formally wrote a letter to Ford and Trudeau as a request for finding the cause of 2017 and 2019 floods.
Watson wrote, “I would encourage your government to undertake a timely investigation into this matter. As I’m sure you can appreciate, many residents in the affected areas of Ottawa will be waiting for reliable information on the factors contributing to these flooding events, and the likelihood of reoccurrence, before making a decision on rebuilding their homes.”
Astoundingly, Ottawa city is still under a state of emergency due to 2019 floods. Also, it affected neighbourhoods such as Constance Bay, Britannia, Fitzroy Harbour, and Cumberland.

Further, Ottawa City Councillor, Eli El-Chantiry thanked Ottawa Mayor for writing a letter to the government via Tweet.

In addition, the Ontario government previously launched a task force to plan and reduce flood impacts. Noticeably, the move was decided after consulting discussion in Pembroke and Ottawa.
Earlier, Watson wanted the Ontario government to contemplate buyout for residents of flood-prone areas.
Let’s see if the federal & provincial government accepts the request and begin the Ottawa flood investigation.
