One man dead another seriously injured after ATV hits hydro pole

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police in Northumberland County are investigating an ATV crash that left one man dead and another seriously injured.
Police say the two men were riding the all terrain vehicle on Harwood Road late Sunday afternoon when they left the road and struck a hydro pole.
Investigators say one of the men, 43-year-old Kevin Higney of Hamilton Township, died at the scene.
They say the other 40-year-old rider was taken to a local hospital by paramedics before being transferred to a trauma centre in Toronto.
Police say neither man had been wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
