Three-year-old killed, another child hospitalized after being hit by car

TORONTO — A three-year-old child has died after being struck by a car in Toronto’s west end.
Police say a man and two children were hit by the vehicle this morning near the intersection of Burnhamthorpe Road and The East Mall in Etobicoke.
In a series of tweets, police say the three-year-old had no vital signs when emergency responders arrived at the scene.
They say that child succumbed to their injuries, while another child was taken to Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the car was also taken to hospital.
Police say roads in the area will be closed until later this afternoon.
