HUNTSVILLE, Ont. — An Ontario woman is facing a drug charge related to an investigation into a woman’s death this spring, provincial police say.
Ontario Provincial Police say the sudden death occurred May 20 after a 28-year-old woman was reported in medical distress in Huntsville, Ont. She later died at a local hospital.
Police say a 33-year-old woman from the same Muskoka region town was arrested and charged on Friday with trafficking an opioid.
A news release about the arrest did not specify the woman’s cause of death, but said the drug charge stemmed from the investigation into her death.
The 33-year-old has a court date in October, and police say they are still investigating the death.
