Finally, waiting for left-wing VP contender has come to pause. Democrat Joe Biden made Congresswoman and the senator Kamala Harris as his running mate for November’s election run. It has been two decades since the political journey of Harris started in San Francisco.
She is the first-ever Asian-American or African-American to be the major party VP candidate. If the party wins, she will be the first women to be a vice president of the country. Here in this piece of writing, we will be discussing the deep dark realities of Harris as an Attorney General and senator. This article will reveal how she could have provided justice.
We can understand how Rep. Kamala Harris was trying hard to claim herself as a modern prosecutor. Previously, she was campaigning to be a part of the presidential run. However, her candidacy was not successful because of her mischaracterization and also the gap between the public representation and actual historical record. Her lack of acknowledgement prevailed injustice to victims.
There have been several cases in which she could have demanded advanced shreds of evidence to have a better grip on cases. However, she refused to accept such alternates during her attorney general span. To emphasize more, we have two cases to exemplify her smart-on-crime approach to wrongfully convicted people.
Firstly, we have George Gage who will have to die in prison because of her lack of criminal justice of Kamala Harris. Almost 80 years old Gage is having a hard time behind the bars because of the wrongly represented case in the courtroom. There was no solid or physical evidence of Gage being a sexual assaulter. Prosecutor did not provide any kind of medical proof, supportive evidence or witness before a judge. Even after the lack of evidence and no criminal record.
Apart from Gage, we have another example of Kevin Cooper. He was accused of two hacking murders but his arrest was of systematic failure instead of an actual crime. Cooper has been facing ill-treatment of system since the age of 7 years. Then, attorney general, Kamala Harris could have demanded easily advanced DNA testing but she refused to do so. Owing to the refusal of Kamala Harris even governor couldn’t help Cooper.
Recently, Kim Kardashian showed her support for Kevin Cooper but unfortunately, this cannot exonerate him. Now, Governor Gavin Newsom has ordered DNA testing but the result is pending. If Kamala Harris has been responsible then this would have happened earlier. However, she didn’t acknowledge it because of her corrupt nature. Cooper is an uneducated and non-white American that is why he was easily framed.
Kamala Harris is a lack of meaningful oversight which has contributed to illegitimacy in the criminal justice system. She was held incapable of maintaining prosecutors and police answerable for their misconduct. In 2015, she could have supported the bill to mandate all the police officers to wear body-worn cameras. Even at that point, she didn’t offer support and declined to investigate shootings involving lethal officers. She did not take any action to help the victims of the shootings.
There are over 146 felonies in which Harris was held scandalous. There has been widespread misconduct in Orange County’s criminal justice system. Inmate informants were used by sheriff’s deputies despite knowing the illegitimacy of it. These allegations were explained by Assistant Public Defender Scott Sanders.
On one hand, she was responsible for the imprisonment of George Gage against sexual abuse. On the other hand, she failed to listen to the outcries of victims of sexual assault. Reportedly, the assault has been done by the Catholic priests. She was incapable of pursuing persecution and her office allegedly hid vital record of such abuses. Harris had no ties with any of the catholic organizations yet she received huge sums of money as campaign donations.
Democratic leader Joe Biden introduced his selected VP contender as a “fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country’s finest public servants.” However, all the above mentioned dark truths proved that she has been fighting for herself and not for the country’s public.
