China is on its way to dominating all the possible countries around the globe by various means be it be trade, biological terrorism, treaty violations, genocide, etc. China violated an international treaty with the United Kingdom as Beijing kick-started genocide in Hong Kong against a religious minority, Uighurs was extremely exploited by the state authorities.
Other than this, China also started bio-terror with the introduction of coronavirus caused COVID-19 disease. Initially, WHO termed coronavirus as a non-contagious disease and this allowed the spread of virus all over the world in the form of a global pandemic. China experienced a high number of deceased people due to this disease way higher than usual. Suddenly, in a very less time period, this disease was widespread in the whole world. However, within very less time China shockingly concealed its situation by immediately stockpiling medical supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE). China left the whole world vulnerable except its own land.
All the countries have been in talks of being defensive against China’s offences however, for now, these talks aren’t inclusive of any actions and just rhetoric in nature. China is taking full advantage of such behaviour of nations. The world needs a US-led response against China in which all the other allies will join America. China is seeking America as inadequate of any response against its abuses and offences.
To start a movement the US does need its allies and partners from all the sectors for the super effective response. America needs to update its advanced competitive environment and this isn’t going through decoupling only.
China steals and weaponizes against the global system by the means of trade, technology, finances, logistics, military power etc. Chinese Communist Party (CCP) uses a holistic approach to be more competitive than ever. We have already discussed China’s Thousand Talents Program and funding in foreign business and educational institutes in order to steal the technology and to make the foreign market hollow.
On 23rd July, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in a speech at the Nixon Presidential Library said, “The old paradigm of blind engagement with China simply won’t get it done. We must not continue it and we must not return to it, the free world must triumph over this new tyranny.”
America along with its allies and its partners will have to think out of the box and ahead of the curve to strengthen them against Beijing’s new competitive approach. They should invest in the revolutionary reset of the standards of global commercial, financial and technological interaction. Apart from this, they have to invest in the modern economy substances such as raw materials, industrial capacity and infrastructure. This might call for a brand new next-gen revolutionary plan.
Undoubtedly, Beijing is well-positioned than all the American allies individually but once the U.S. and its allies strengthen then dealing with China is not a big deal. This can be easily achieved by calling out the sensitivities and weaknesses of China. The US-led coalition can have advantages against China by triggering the American military’s fear in Beijing. Such a coalition can also protect their technological innovation and superiority.
Although, COVID-19 has put restrictions on everything yet one can seek this as an opportunity to rebuild everything such as virtual offices, new processes, recovery investments and civic mobilization. America can re-design and update itself for a modern world and its modern threats.
The very first step should be America’s response against China’s civil rights abuses in Hong Kong. This massive movement might be ignored as an unachievable response for now yet it is the call of the time. China will not stop here it’s certainly going to target various nations in the same way. China has high aims and plans for dominating the world. The U.S. and its allies should re-define them in order to respond to China. If it is not now it’s going to be too late to be sorry.
