Premier Doug Ford isn’t just changing the Ontario license plates slogan but it’s also going to change the province’s logo. Government sources are saying that the province’s Trillium logo has been given makeover by showing Ontario’s official flower. Hope we can all see fresh and new Ontario logo soon.
Even in 2006, former premier Dalton McGuinty’s Liberals redesigned the province logo at $219,000 cost.
A senior government official told that the cost of a new design is $89,000 which quite less than the Liberals’ expenditure on the previous redesign.
You will get to see a newly re-designed logo on all the provincial signs, letterheads, websites and advertisements.
In 2006, Leader of Progressive conservative John Tory labelled new redesign logo by McGuinty Liberals as wastage of money. He suggested using the taxpayers’ money for some better cause such as helping farmers, helpless and so on.
Late Democrat MPP Peter Kormos slammed the re-designed and defined it as “three men in a bathtub.”
Additionally, Ford Government said that this new logo will also appear on new license plates.
A senior Government source said, “By modernizing Ontario’s licence plate and how it is made, Ontario taxpayers will save millions of dollars each year.” He added, “a mere fraction of the savings taxpayers will receive from our wider plate modernization process.”
Reportedly, driver shave reported about the defective license plates. The letters and numbers on license plates disappear way too soon. Also, they requested for new licence plates from the province.
Notably, provincial correctional centres manufacture all the current plates.
