New Zealand government will change the arms laws following the cowardly attack on the two mosques at the Christchurch. Jacinda Ardern the New Zealand Prime minister announced the ban of assault rifles and army style semi-automatic rifles in the country. New Zealand gun laws will come into place as soon as possible.
Not just that, high capacity magazines and all the parts used to convert weapons into MSSAs will also get banned.
Arden said, “On 15 March our history changed forever. Now, our laws will too.” Further, she said that these new and tough rules will strengthen the country to make it safer.
She wants new laws to be enforced by the 11th of April. However, the buy-back scheme of all the banned weapons will cost around NZ$200 million.
On the other hand, the use of the semi-automatic weapons is allowed under the A- category license till 7-shots. Ardern believes that the authorized gun owners will understand & accept this nation favoured law for further development.
Hope these new laws will help the country like Australia in 1996. Do share your valuable opinions in the comments section below.
