Patrick Shanahan, Acting Defence Secretary Patrick Shanahan confirmed that nation conducted a nuclear weapon test launch on Wednesday. But at the same time, he refused to provide any further details. Thus, North Korea test launch confirmed.
He said that the test didn’t involve a ballistic weapon and haven’t triggered any change to the US military operations.
Notably, North Korea said the test included a new type of tactical weapon. It didn’t scuttle ongoing nuclear negotiations between the two countries.

Apart from other demands, now Pyongyang is also demanding to remove State Secretary Mike Pompeo from nuclear negotiations.
The State Department is also aware of this demand. they are still ready to engage North Korea in constructive nuclear negotiations.
