On Friday, the Foreign Office said that Pakistan is going to release 366 Indian prisoners. The prisoners are including 355 fisherman and 5 civilians in the month of April. Amidst the Pulwama attack and Indian Airstrike Pakistan is doing so as a goodwill gesture.
India’s neighbour nation will release all these prisoners in four instalments. However, the nation has already released 100 prisoners on 7th April. Other prisoners are also going to release on 15th April, 22nd April and 29th April.
They will bring prisoners from Karachi to Lahore and then finally hand over to Indian authorities at Wagah border.
Notably, all these fishermen were arrested in an offence to violate international maritime limits by trespassing into the country’s territorial waters.

Total 537 Indian prisoners are in Pakistan whereas India captured a total of 347 Pakistani prisoners.
Pakistan Foreign Office’s spokesman, Mohammad Faisal said, “Pakistan has decided that 360 Indian prisoners – having a breakup of 355 fishermen and five civilians, who have completed their term of sentence, will be released.”
He added, “We hope that India will reciprocate this.”
Both side prisoners have to complete the jail terms for months or years.
