Pope Francis touched & kissed south Sudan rival leaders’ feet. He did so in order to encourage the leaders to strengthen the fluctuating peace process of African countries.
Pope Francis usually clean the feet of prisoners on Holy Thursday as a ritual. But, he never did this for political leaders.
Everyone was able to see that 82-year-old Pope suffers from chronic leg pain kissed the feet of political leaders and others with difficulty.

The Pope said, “To you three, who have signed a peace agreement, I ask you as a brother, remain in peace.”
South Sudan politicians were staying at the Pope’s Vatican residence for an unprecedented two-day spiritual retreat.
The pope also asked South Sudan President and rival leader to encourage peace agreement despite developing difficulties. He suggested them so at the departure time.
Both sides harmed nation with the disease, hunger and violating human rights consequently many civilians migrated to neighbouring countries.

The pope suggested this after the dethroning of neighbouring Sudan’s President by the military.
Pope said, “I urge you, then, to seek what unites you, beginning with the fact that you belong to one and the same people, and to overcome all that divides you, People are wearied, exhausted by past conflicts: Remember that with war, all is lost!”
