Jody Wilson handed over an audio recording and some other documents to the common committee. These were related to the inappropriate persuasion of Justin Trudeau and his officials to protect the SNC Lavalin scandal.

Canada’s former justice minister repeatedly warned about the possibility of political fallout regarding interference in the criminal case related to Major Canadian Cooperation.

SNC-Lavalin has been facing the claims of the bribe in order to have a contract under Muammar Gaddafi’s regime in Libya.

However, Prime Minister Trudeau is refusing any inappropriate doing by him or any of his officials. But, released documents are increasing pressure over Trudeau. Meanwhile, Prime Minister and his officials are saying that the conviction of engineering firm will affect the jobs of 9000 people.

Ms. Wilson’s accusations are degrading the image of the Canadian Prime Minister as he promised to do clean politics.

Notably, the recording is a 17-18 minute long call between Wilson-Raybould and the Privy Council clerk Wernick.

SNC Lavalin Scandal – Call Recording:

In the recording, Wernick was telling about Trudeau’s concern of potential job losses, if the company found convicted of bribery. They asked her to apply new law which could consequently change criminal conviction to a hefty monetary penalty.

Whereas, Jody Wilson-Raybould said that it is constitutional breaching. She also warned him about the dangers of governmental interference in the case.

Mr. Wernick was unaware that Jody is recording the call. However, Ms. Wilson said that this is legal in Canada.  Later, she accepted her deed as “inappropriate.”

Conservatives requested the justice committee to call Ms. Wilson for further hearings with more testimonies but Trudeau’s liberal party dominated committee refused it. Conservative leader Andrew Scheer said, “The prime minister has lost the moral authority to govern and must resign.”

Prime Minister Trudeau is now preparing for October elections and is trying to attract people towards his future plans. As a result, he wants to distract people from the controversy. Also, He is very much careful not to criticize Ms. Wilson and Ms. Philpott. As these two are Liberal Parliament members.

Ms. Philpott said that there is much more to unfold but Trudeau and his aides are attempting to shut down the matter.

Now, we all have to wait for the Caucus meeting scheduled for Wednesday for further details.
