On Tuesday, the US House of Representatives failed to repeal President Donald Trump Veto. Last month, Trump announced, “National Emergency” of building America-Mexico border wall which Congress didn’t finance.
Democrats who control the House couldn’t attract enough Republican support to reverse the Trump’s veto. They lagged by 3 dozen votes, required 2/3rd votes to revoke the action. Only, 14 Republicans and 234 Democrats voted whereas one Democrats and 2 Republicans didn’t take part in the voting.
By 248-181 tally, Trump has to continue to scout the federal banks for the funding. He suggested making the border wall in order to suppress drug trafficking and illegal immigration.
Even the fights over Trump’s emergency announcement has gone to the court. Already ongoing various legal challenges consequently slowing the building plans of a border wall.
In February, 16 states filed a case against the border wall emergency and even this month four new states accompanied the case.
Trump in order to bypass the Congress announced the national emergency on 15th February. Not just that, he also tried to move the funds of taxpayers already funded by the legislature to the border wall making.
US President Trump tweeted, “Thank you to the House Republicans for sticking together and the BIG WIN today on the Border. Today’s vote simply reaffirms Congressional Democrats are the party of Open Borders, Drugs and Crime!”

Trump Veto – Congress Bypassing:
Democrats argued that the Republican President has encroached his right bypassing Congress as the legislature has the power of controlling funds following the US Constitution.
Meanwhile, Republicans have called Trump’s emergency announcement to be legally correct according to the National Emergencies Act 1976. Using this law, the previous three presidents announced dozens of emergency situations.
Republican Representative Sam Graves said, “The president has the authority to act. The president is using the authority Congress has given him.”
The political victory of Trump has made things more challenging for Republicans regarding his signature, border wall, and many such issues.
Pentagon declared that it is reprogramming the $1 billion funds to build the part of the wall. Notably, the funds have to be shifted from military construction projects.
