On Sunday, a devastating and a heart threatening terrorist attack took place at Sri Lanka. The terrorists attack two churches and four hotels in the capital of Sri Lanka Colombo. A third church on the country’s northeast coast also underwent attacks. In this traumatic Sri Lanka terrorist attack many people killed and injured.
Sri Lanka is a predominantly Buddhist country with 70.2% of Theravada Buddhism population. The nation is also home to many Christians, Hindu and Muslims.
Apart from the churches, luxury hotels such as Shangri-La, Cinnamon Grand & Kingsbury was also targeted.
On Monday, Sri Lanka authorities lifted a curfew in the nation. Also, all the social media sites such as Facebook, WhatsApp have been blocked.
How Did Attack Happen?
The first explosion report came out at 08:45 AM local time. Firstly, six blasts altogether took place further 2 more explosions happened.
The government officials think that most of the blasts carried out by suicide bombers.
Actual convicts of these attacks are still uncertain. But, reportedly, 24 people have been arrested so far. However, the cause is unknown yet.
Sri Lanka Terrorist Attack Victims:
The victim counts of Sri Lanka attack soar to 290 killed and 500 injured people. 32 foreigners were included in the killed people. These foreigners comprise of Indian, Chinese, Portuguese, Danish, Dutch, Turkish, US nations.
A British MP also lost a relative in this coward attack. An Australian survivor described the attack as “absolute carnage”.
Several hours after the attack, police have reported an explosion at a house in Colombo. During the raid, three police officers were also martyred.
Despite the curfew, people can travel to the airport by showing their boarding pass and identification at checkpoints.
These travellers have to visit the airport four hours before the scheduled flight time.

Statement of Officials:
Sri Lanka president Maithripala Sirisena was abroad at the time of attacks. Now, he called a meeting of the National Security Council. According to the sources, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe would attend the meeting.
While addressing media on Sunday Sri Lanka Prime Minister said, “We must look into why adequate precautions were not taken. Neither I nor the Ministers were kept informed. For now, the priority is to apprehend the attackers.”

US President Donald Trump and UK Prime Minister Theresa May tweeted their condolences.
