Sweden is going to reopen the investigation of an alleged rape case against Julian Assange. On Monday, the nation’s chief deputy prosecutor announced it.
WikiLeaks founder was accused of sexual assault by two Swedish women. Assange visited the country back in August 2010.

Today morning, Swedish Deputy Director of Public Prosecution said Sweden would resume the proceedings at a press conference in the Stockholm.
In 2012, UK Supreme Court rules against him following year-long extradition. Afterwards, Julian went to Ecuador’s London embassy for seeking asylum. Hence, he spent seven years there before British police arrested him.

Ecuador President accused him of leaking his personal life and doing spy work in the embassy.
Back in 2015 Sweden lapsed the case and later on suspended the case as Assange was in an embassy. But, the nation’s then Director of Public Prosecution, Marianne Ny said that if the situation changed, the decision could be reviewed.
Under Swedish law, any charges related to the rape allegation must be made by August 2020.
