Southern US tornado caused eight deaths & several injured people. The massive storms with winds and damaging gust triggered the tornadoes. It drenched East Coast states. The people killed in the tornado included three children.
Authorities say that before heading towards East Coast, 11 tornadoes touched down the three states.
Through Monday, West Virginia, most of North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland and parts of Ohio and New York are indicating favourable conditions for tornado formation.
Meteorologist David Roth of the National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Prediction Center said, “The affected areas will get heavy rains, winds with gusts of up to 70 mph (110kph) and the possibility of hail”.
He added, “We’ll be seeing severe weather from Florida to New York, with the most unstable parts so far in Georgia”.
Deaths Caused By Southern US Tornado:
On Saturday, two children aged eight years and 3 years died in Pollok, Texas. A tree fell on their family car. Parents riding at the front seat are safe. But, children sitting at the back seat died.
A third child, Sebastian Omar Martinez aged 3 years also died in Louisiana. The child drowned after falling into a drainage ditch filled with flash floodwaters near Monroe.
In Calhoun, an unidentified body was found trapped in a vehicle submerged in floodwaters.
Not just that, a private jet crash caused the death of 3 people. However, it’s uncertain whether it was due to the weather or not.
In addition, A 93-year-old man Roy Ratliff died after a tree fell on his mobile home, in Monroe County, Mississippi.
Reportedly, Most of the deaths took place in Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.

In Mississippi, “one person was killed and 11 people injured over the weekend as tornadoes ripped through 17 counties and left 26,000 homes and businesses without electricity,” said Governor Phil Bryant.
Afterwards, the southern US tornado storms head towards the East coast on Monday and caused travel delays in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
There is Rain and windy weather forecast for Boston. Oravec said, “The biggest impact rush hour-wise probably will be Boston, around 7 to 8 o’clock in the morning, and around New York City around 5 or 6 o’clock, before sunrise.”
